As a whole, the NFA acts as the central resource for all issues related to flood zone determinations. The NFA:
- Reaches out to third party stakeholder groups (including FEMA and insurer, agent, lender, etc. groups) to educate them through in-person, tradeshow and virtual meetings about the practical use of flood data and all related implications
- Testifies before Congress regarding topics and concerns related to the use of flood data
- Responds to related legislative proposals
- Participates in third party coalition groups to make sure the flood industry voice is heard.
- Hosts an annual conference attended by leaders in the flood zone determination, insurance, lending, floodplain management and other related industries.
- Provides timely updates via email, newsletter, teleconference, etc. regarding topics related to flood data, regulatory compliance and insurance interests.
- Manages a certification program for flood zone determination companies.
- Works with the media on relevant news stories related to flood data and risk information.

NFA Membership Levels:
National Flood Association (NFA) members have the opportunity to work together with all
industry stakeholders involved with flood insurance, flood compliance, flood risk information, flood claims, and flood data through education, industry standards, and a collaborative approach to legislative issues. As a member, your company has the right to be as involved as it would like, within the parameters of its membership category. In order for the association to thrive and continue to have meaningful collaboration with industry stakeholders, all members are needed and expected to participate actively in NFA activities and initiatives.
MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS BY LEVEL
EXECUTIVE
Executive members of the NFA make flood determinations.
Annual Dues: Based on Daily Units
As an executive member, your company
- has the opportunity to serve on the Board and have an impact on the future direction of the association
- may have a representative in a leadership position on the Board
- may have a representative lead a committee and have an active role in the association
- has full voting privileges for the Board, bylaws changes, etc.
- receives full access to all information the association website and association email communications
- receives a reduced registration rate for attendance at the annual conference
- may participate in the association educational opportunities free of charge
- receive the association newsletter
PARTNER
Partner members of NFA are flood industry stakeholders such as claims adjusters, flood vendors, insurance companies (WYO and insurers writing private flood), lenders, insurance brokers, and offshore entities.
Annual Dues: $2,000
As a partner member, your company
- has the opportunity to serve on the Board and have an impact on the future direction of the association
- may have a representative serve in a leadership position on the Bord
- may have a representative lead a committee and have an active role in the association
- has full voting privileges for the Board, bylaws changes, etc.
- receives full access to all information on the association website and association email communications
- receives a reduced registration rate for attendance at the annual conference
- may participate in association educational opportunities free of charge
- receive the association newsletter
SUPPORTING
Supporting members believe in and support the NFA and its mission but don't want to provide input into how NFA is run. Supporting members could be individual floodplain managers, attorneys, resellers, mapping partners, flood industry stakeholder associations, private label companies, and insurance agents.
Dues for Companies: $700/yr
Dues for Government Officials: $200/yr
As a supporting member, you and/or your company
- support the mission and positions of the association
- have access to all public information on the association website
- may participate in association educational opportunities at a reduced rate
- receive a discounted registration rate for attendance at the annual conference
- receive the association newsletter
